The recording of "Belleville Nights (Midnight Mission...an open letter to your home town)" came to a screeching halt in early 2008 after the closing of Belleville's "ITR," an all ages punk venue. Consequently, recordings for "The Criminal Record" began as it's content and full band energy seemed a more fitting tribute to our local music scene's tense situation at the time. In mid 2008, a few tracks from each potential album were released on the Caffeine Tambourine website in the form of a single album called "Shit Kids: Midnight Mission." After YNK formed in 2009 and "Screams" was released, we began re-recording "Belleville Nights/The Criminal Record." In early 2010, the recordings were unintentionally erased. Re-recording began but the album was shelved to make way for new music. The album was officially abandoned due to band line up changes. THAT...is the abridged version of the story. In late 2008, a full "mixtape" of tracks was emailed or sent through instant messaging services to anyone who requested it upon reading a myspace bulletin stating that is was available....what we have here is essentially that mixtape with a few changes. ENJOY!
